Tescan Mira3 LC

Purchased by the University in 2017, the TESCAN Mira3 is a high performance SEM offering high resolution/high current/low noise imaging. It has a unique Wide Field Optics design with an Intermediate Lens for enhanced field of view/depth of focus imaging. Detectors include SE (ETD), BSE (retractable scintillator type), In-Beam SE, In-Beam BSE. The Beam deceleration giving excellent resolution at low beam voltages. The microscope is fitted with an integrated plasma cleaner to ensure chamber cleanliness.

For chemical and crystallographic analysis, it is equipped with an Oxford Instruments 150mm2 X-Max SSD detector and Oxford Instruments Symmetry S1 EBSD detector. Symmetry EBSD detector is capable of capturing over 3000 pattern per second. Large area simultaneous chemical and crystallographic information can be achieved in shorter time.
